Royal hats!

So yes.. the Royal Wedding has happened. I was not apart of the slew of people that got up at 4am to watch the wedding. I decided to DVR it, and watched it this afternoon at 4pm!
It was neat to watch it. It was neat to see all the Royal people, and their outfits.
But the one thing that I thought was fun to see was the hats...
So we'll begin with Kate's mother's hat!

It's so cute! Neat little thing!
AND OH MY! Now we are with Fergie's daughter's hat.. Um. Don't even know what to say.
And now the Queen of England! So cute! I loved the yellow, and the little lady! So so cute!
Camilla... Not so good. I feel like her entire outfit made her look old.
This lady I'm not sure who she is (maybe I should...) Her hat is really neat. I like the tilted hats!
Um back again.... Sisters I guess think alike. Wish one of them would've thought smart and helped the other one...
And Victoria Beckham... Not in love with it either.
I really enjoy the hats. I think they are fun, but I think several did a bad job with hat choice.

About the rest of the Wedding. It was fun to watch, and see all the neat things about it. Kate looked very pretty. I loved the dress! It made me want to watch my own wedding again. (We were supposed to tonight, but it just got busy... maybe tomorrow night!)

Also like several other bloggers I want to take time to think about the families that have lost homes and love ones due to storms. It's hard to get caught up in our everyday lives, and forget things that are going around in the next state. (Especially when it rains and causes flooding we think our world is crashing down, but it could be worst or when a Royal Wedding happens... ha) But just take time and say a little prayer for the ones that are struggling right now due to natural disasters around the country.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :D

Puppy days

So we have been kinda busy around here...
Or at least to busy to write about it. ha

I've been subbing almost every week. The past few weeks I've subbed 4 out of the 5 days.
And for the next two weeks I'll be subbing the entire time for a teacher while he is gone.
(4th grade)

So update on what's been going on....

Easter happened... And of course. I forgot to take pictures. Nathan asked after we had lunch at my parents if I wanted to get a picture taken, but I had already taken my hair down and earrings off. So maybe another time we will wear the same outfits (match) and take a picture!

My dad's birthday was Monday (the 25th) So we celebrate his birthday!
Check out the sweet cake my mom got from Harp's!
So Easter morning we got in my car to go to church, and I stepped in the passenger side to a puddle of water. EEK! My car was leaking. So of course... we had to go get it check out... And several hundred dollars later we are having to get it fixed. This has happened to several other Ford cars, so Ford completely redid the part, so we can't just fix half of it, but all of it now. Geez. You'd think they would recall it, but no. Oh well. At least we found out the problem before my whole car was flooded like the rest of NWA.
Speaking of flooding. I'm so glad it has stopped raining for a few days. I was so sick of seeing water everywhere I went.

Another fun thing is watching Samantha grow. I was telling Nathan that it's hard for me to be so upset with her sometimes when I think about how far she has come. I think back to those first few weeks we had her... Oh boy. Peeing all over the place, whining through the night. And now she still is a puppy so she's not perfect but she's fun! I love her so much!
She has almost all her adult teeth in! There are a few that are growing in, and she needs to loose the baby teeth. (Who knew dogs lost their teeth too, crazy)
We go Saturday for another update on her to the vet! They want to check out her teeth, and maybe figure out an age now! :D
Here's a picture of Samantha our last night of puppy class (when she peed in my car twice)
She got all tangled up in her leash, but she sat!
She's so loving!!!

It's really fun being the classroom, and hearing the funny things kids say!
The past few classes I have been in have all said the same thing when I tell them my name.
"LIKE RIO THE MOVIE!!!!!"
Ha!
Yes like Rio the movie!

** Update: Monday, May 2nd, I am going to meet with HR! So hopefully this is one step closer, and I'll find out more information about my job!

Horrible blogger

So it's official I have been a horrible blogger lately.
I haven't really taken any pictures AND I haven't blogged in a long time (ok about a half and a few days, but still)

So I've decided to update you on what is going on around the del Rio household!

Starting with a week and half ago! (I posted then, but didn't really give details so here they are)
So many of you (I think) know that I had an interview in Bentonville. I interviewed Thursday the 7th at Thomas Jefferson elementary. (The school I went to from 3rd to 5th) Courtney also went there.
They had 3 openings (1st, 2nd, 3rd) I was excited.. My first interview with a school. (I had done the open interview with Rogers) So friday was my interview. I was so nervous. I was SWEATING before I even left the house. Not good, not good. I was wearing a white shirt.. Gosh. So my interview was at 3:30pm. I was there about 3:15.. ha I was just so excited! I walked into the interview. The assistant principal told me to relax it was a casual interview. Which made me feel better. There was also 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers in there as well. The interview went really well.

They told me that I would hear either Friday or the following Monday. Well Friday didn't happen... so Monday it would be.
So let's skip to Monday.... Monday I went up to the church to continue helping my mom with her musical. We were painting for the backdrop. A little after lunch I received a phone call... Saying that Thomas Jefferson would like to have me be apart of their team (3RD GRADE!!!)
EEK!!! Now I still had to call the Admin building and set up two more interviews. I called them, and because I am a sub in the district I don't have to meet with one of the guys for the interview, but now we are just waiting for everything else to go through. (All official stuff).

So that was Monday!!! What a great day! :D

The rest of the week was pretty easy. I helped my mom with getting stuff ready for the musical. I subbed a few days as well!

This past weekend was a busy/eventful weekend!
Friday we had practice for the musical which went well. The kids always do a great job! Saturday was busy....
Got up for dress rehearsal at the church.
Done around 12:30.. went and ate lunch.
Came home and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned.
Went to parents house to see Courtney all dressed up for prom!
Headed to eat dinner at Carabas for Nathan's birthday.
It was a fun but busy day!

Sunday was the day of the musical. We had church as usual then we went to eat to celebrate my job and Nathan's birthday with my parents and grandaddy (Courtney was to tired.. she went home and slept)
That afternoon we got up to the church and got everyone in place!
The kids did a wonderful job! I was so proud of them!! :D

Monday came and I went to sub the same first grade class I subbed for on Friday. They are a good class... talkative, but good!
They doing a thing called Writer's Workshop were they write for a period of time (silently)
One boy decided to write a book about me! I need to take pictures, and post it because it was so cute! My favorite page of the book though was he said Ms del Rio is the only girl I know who likes Star Wars! He then drew a picture of me with popcorn watching start wars (and preceded to tell me the characters on the movie screen) He is so funny!

Last night I took Samantha to her last puppy class! We have officially graduated! She did SOO good her last night there. She played really well with the other dogs! I was so proud.
*** On the way there and home she decided to pee in my car... Not a big fan of her at those moments*** I have a funny picture I'll have to post of her tangled in her leash
We can now continue to take her to socialize her with other puppies until she is 5 months old. Then we can begin beginner training.

Today I didn't sub. I stayed around the house, and then wen to Walmart to get groceries.. I cannot make it in and out of there in less than an 45 minutes if I am shopping for food for the week. It's crazy.

I decided to start picking weeds in the front of our house... Man it's a task! Going to hope to get it done by the end of the week if not sooner.

I get to sub the rest of the week in 3rd grade at two different schools! I'm excited to be in the classrooms, and get ideas for my class!

** Also in other news my brother and sister-in-law have announced they are pregnant! They will have a baby sometimes in Nov.
** Also Nathan's brother and sister-in-law are also pregnant and having their second!
So I will be an aunt to 3 wonderful kids! Can't wait! :D

Friday Evening

Well it is Friday evening... And I am sitting on my couch watching "Say Yes To the Dress" with my dog... My husband had to head to LR this weekend for a Field Training prep until Saturday night.. So it's just Samantha and me! (and Max the cat)

So yesterday I had my interview at a school in the area. It was a great interview, and I now just waiting to hear the news... Good or Bad I know God is in control!

Last night our Sunday School class had a potluck dinner at one of the couples houses. It was a lot of fun to get together, and hang out with a group of people! We ended up playing Taboo (which I have not played in a long time) and the girls won!!! :D

I couldn't figure out what I wanted to take and my mom suggested Hash-brown casserole! So I looked up a recipe and tried it for the first time! I think it turned out pretty good for the first time. I told some of the girls I would post the recipe so here it is:
2 (10.75) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 cups sour cream
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons dried minced onion flakes
pepper to taste
1 (2 pound) package frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed
4 ounces extra sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup crushed cornflakes cereal

1. Preheat oven 350 degrees, lightly grease 13x9 pan
2. In large bowl mix soup, sour cream, butter, onion flakes, pepper. Stir in the hash brown and 1/2 the cheese (I ended up using more than 4 ounces of cheese.. Just kept putting some in ha)
3. Pour into the dish, sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top, and top with crushed cornflakes (I once again didn't measure. I just crushed and put on top until covered)
4. Bake 45 min. or until cheese is melted and bubbly

I was able to mix it and put it in the pan that morning, and then that afternoon I just had to stick it in the oven SUPER EASY!!!!

Today I was able to sub at Cooper the Bella Vista School. I took the job last night for a first grade position. When I got there I found out that I had an intern in my room... So I mainly was there for extra help. Easiest day of subbing! ha

So now I am going back to watching DC Cupcakes (the show has changed as I was typing this) and playing sudoku with my dog on the couch with me...

**Also I found out my new favorite movie.... TANGLED! We watched it today when I was subbing and it is SOOO cute!

Update!

Well I have been a horrible blogger lately.... I'll give you an update on our lives as of lately!!!
So we found out last week that Nathan got an enrollment allocation last week! In case you don't know what that means... He is going to field training this summer for the air force! I decided to make a sign for him!!! :D
We had to get a picture with the puppy!!
I couldn't get the entire sign in the picture... so we had to do half and half!!

So that happened last week.
Last Friday we had a dining out with the Air Force ROTC at the UofA... now did I take any pictures??? Of Course not.... But it was a lot of fun! We ate dinner, and then they had made a video!

Saturday we didn't do a whole lot.
Rogers Public Schools had an open interview day (over 700 people interviewed) I went to that Saturday morning. I met with a lady, and she interviewed me. Then they score that interview and give the number to the principals in Rogers. They then decide if they want to interview me for themselves... So we shall see!
We went shopping for an easter dress... did I find one?? Of course not! Ugh. It was so frustrating

That afternoon we came back and hung out at the house!

Sunday we went to church. And I came home and took a nap while my wonderful husband folded the TONS of laundry we had.... Why is it that we feel like we have to take a nap on Sundays? It's like a must!
That night we took Samantha out for a walk on the Bella Vista walking trail. It was fun! We meet some cute kids who all asked if they could pet her! (Great thing parents!!! Wether the dog looks nice or not. Start training them early!)

Monday night we had puppy class again! It was better this time. She was not king of the world. She played with the other dogs very well! (She did go to the bathroom :( but that's not the end of the world)... We learned some good things Monday night like... most of the puppies didn't know their name so you can't teach a puppy tricks if you can't get their attention! So we are working on her learning her name this week!

Yesterday was just the same... I've been helping my mom out with painting the set for her musical a week from Sunday.

Today I was able to Sub... The computer lab :( I must say I could not be the computer lab teaching talk about BORING.. Now I did experience all grade levels today which was fun, but still it was very boring. (Maybe it's more exciting if you are teaching them things..) I had one girl say she's seen me before.. but not at school. At a restaurant. I had no clue. ha I also had a 4th grade class who I have subbed for twice. They I guess really enjoyed me, and their teacher requested me but I was already working. They came in begging if I could switch with their sub. I told them I couldn't do that... I also had a 1st grade class that I have had before. One boy came in, and said... "You are the one who like Star Wars. I had a Star Wars party, and was going to invite you.. But I didn't know your address" I only had 2 classes that I had never had before, so that was nice!

I went to Wal-mart and was checking out today (which took forever because they only had less than 1/2 the lanes open) but this little girl comes up to me and says Hey I know you! Ha.. It was a girl from Apple Glen the school I sub at!

Here is a video I'll leave you with of me trying to get Samantha to go get the ball, and then bring it back... Sorry for the horrible camera shot, but it was the best I could do... Oh I feel like everyone always thinks they sound weird on video... I am one that definitely agrees with that!

**And tomorrow is Thursday which means I have my second interview ever... I am headed to interview at Thomas Jefferson (My alumni elementary school) They have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade opening! So please say a prayer if you think about me tomorrow at 3:30pm! I have my binder ready to prove to them that I am the one.... Hopefully!

All About Me!

I got this from two friends blogs... Kati and Bethany and Amy

K. Kids: If you consider animals kids... then 2. Samantha (dog, 3 months) Max (cat, 1 year)

N. Nickname: Donna, Una, Anna (ha)
