I am blogging twice in one day!

I'm officially getting excited about school.

I have started going through all my pins on interest and finding out what I want to be accomplished by the time school starts.

So I came upon one of my pins. I head to the blog where it came from... and get SUPER excited!

Well when I got to the blog I see that you can enter to win a name sign.

So I figure I might as well enter, and if I don't win it then I can always try to make one..

New Bathroom

So I finally have pictures on my computer to show you our bathroom renovations! So here is the story of how our bathroom renovation started! 

Our condo is pretty old, and our bathroom had sliding glass doors on the tub area. We knew some friends who took their doors off, and it made the bathroom look not so dated. 

Well Nathan decided one day to take them out... and the fun began! 3 tiles fell off while doing this challenge, and behind them there was mold :( 

He decided he needed to get the rest of the tiles out.

So here is the before: (Like before Nathan even moved in and was removing popcorn ceiling)

It was a lot of work, but glad it is officially done.

Sorry. I know I promised to blog this summer and be consistent... Well while I was doing Jenna's blog hopping I got asked to go the Youth camp with our church. So I had to drop everything and start packing. :D

While gone at camp we had no internet so no posting then.
When I came home we continued to remodel our bathroom (which is another post in its self)!

So now that I am home and the bathroom is done I can start posting again.

I have lots to fill you in on!!!
Look out tomorrow or Friday for a new post with pictures!

Today's blog commenting challenge is Social Media! If you are just joining my blog Jenna's Journey is having a blog commenting challenge. She has decided to  give us options of what we blog about, so here is today's : Social Media

I do use social media a lot. Sometimes I think I need to take a break. I use Facebook to keep up with friends/family. I like to update quick pictures of things I have made/am doing/or show off my family!! Other than Facebook I do have a twitter account. I don't post a whole lot there. I mainly read others (does that sound creepy...) I never can come up with interesting thing I feel like are twitter "worthy."
The other social media network I might say I am ADDICTED TO is Pinterest.
As a teacher I used this tool EVERYDAY. I have the app on my phone so I at least check it once a day if not more. It is a great tool for not only teachers, but everyone. I have found several recipes that are on my regular menu!! I also found a date night pin (if you follow my blog I have started posting about each date we go on (I am one behind) but it explains it all on this post!

Here is one item that I found on pinterest, and made for our home! It's one of my new favorite creations!

Another item is a school item that we used last year to help teacher our kiddos about how to papers.

It was so much fun. I'm telling you I love Pinterest. Right now since it is summer I probably pin several items a day. My goal soon (key word soon) is to start going through all my classroom pins and figuring out which ones I want to start implementing beginning of school year, and others I can wait on.

*You might call me a Pinterest freak!

I also do enjoy Amazon. I tend to buy a lot of items from there. We have Amazon Prime, so everything ships within 2 days. We can also borrow kindle books. Amazon is probably a frequent place we "shop."

Why?

Today is Day 2 in Jenna's blog commenting party!! Our topic for today is why do we blog?
Well... I started blogging a few years ago when I was about to head to London with my dad on a trip through his seminary. I thought it was a great way to keep everyone back home up to date on what we were doing/going/learning/etc. Especially since time difference is crazy... it would be good to check in with everyone.

After we came home I figured why stop blogging?? I already had it up, so I could keep it going.
I continued on and off for a while while in school.

I then got married in Jan of 2011, and started to blog again about life, food, day to day activities.
I continued this until I started teaching in the fall. I got really busy, and decided to take a "leave of absence" for a while.

I have now decided with my first year down I am going back at it full force. I get so many ideas from other blogs whether it be recipes/teaching strategies/home decorating. Why not share a little (key word little) of what I have with others!

Day 1: About me!

I have never participated.. so I decided since I am getting the blog up and rolling again this is a good way to start, and a good way to meet new people.

Today is all about me!
As most of you know (and can tell from my blog) I am a teacher, so right not I am on summer break. Which has been wonderful!
I completed my first year teaching this past May. I taught first grade which was a great learning/rewarding year. I am a teacher up in Bentonville, but live in Bella Vista. (about 5/10 minutes away) I have grown up in this area, so I have come to love this area of Northwest Arkansas!

Here I am as Angelina Ballerina for our Spirit Day of "Favorite Book Character" Who couldn't love their job if they got to do fun things like this!

Besides being a teacher I am a wife to a loving husband for almost 1 1/2 years in July. Time has flown. It has been a great adventure, and if you are following me you have seen our new Date Night blog posts (which I have one from this past weekend I need to blog about -super fun)
He is attending the University of Arkansas getting his Nursing degree through the Air Force.

I would like to call myself a runner.... I started the couch to 5k program back in February and ran my first 5k in May! I was super excited!! Ask me if I have ran since...

I am planning on signing up for a 5k at the end of July and end of August. So I better start getting my body ready again. -Then maybe I'll call myself a runner.

Besides being a teacher and wife... I am a mom of this beautiful child....

This is our puppy who is 1 1/2. She is getting ready to graduate from intermediate class this Saturday. Wow how they grow up so fast :D She keeps us going, and on our toes. You never realize how smart they are until they somehow get something they aren't supposed to have.

That's a lot about me! Can't wait to read your blogs, and hopefully have more friends to follow!

52 Date Night Ideas - Date 1

So I am an AVID pinner. If you don't know what Pinterest is... you really must find out! A while back I pinned a blog post that had 52 (now 62) date night ideas. The idea was that each date night was either free or semi affordable. Well I finally decided to start this up! Instead of the typical dinner and renting a movie... We could have some fun getting to know each other better, and enjoy different ideas.

So this is how I did it. I got a jar and pieces of paper numbered from 1-62. We put the numbers folded up in the jar. Last Saturday we drew a number, and did the activity corresponding to the number we pulled. (Some of the activities would take preparation, so if we got one that needed preparation we put it back in to do it later since we pulled the number out the night of) You could also just go down the list. I just thought the unknown was exciting!!!

So on Saturday we pulled number #8 - Build a fort and watch a movie.

Nathan was SUPER excited. He was like a little kid again. I mean when was the last time you built a fort???

So we went out to dinner before, and then got a movie while we were out. When we got home the fun began. This was SUCH a fun date. I mean how many times can you say you built a fort with your husband to watch a movie when you are 24 years old.

So like I said this is some fun ideas you can do with your loved one besides just dinner or dinner and a movie! (And a lot of them are fairly cheap!!!!)
